Junior forward Jeremy Lorenz announced his transfer from DePaul to St. Thomas on X Thursday. Lorenz is the first addition for the Tommies in this year’s transfer portal.

The six-foot-eight forward only appeared in the first nine games for the DePaul Blue Demons this past season due to a season-ending hip injury. In those nine games, Lorenz averaged 2.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10.6 minutes played per game.

Lorenz, a Brillion, Wisconsin native, spent the first two years of his collegiate basketball career at Wofford, averaging 8.0 points per game in his sophomore season.

In high school, Lorenz played in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League for Phenom U’s Team Herro, a team founded and supported by Miami Heat star Tyler Herro. Austin Herro, younger brother of Tyler Herro and current Tommie basketball guard, is also a former Team Herro player.

Lorenz, a Wisconsin Division 3 Boys Basketball state champion, is set to team up with fellow Wisconsin natives Tim Franks, Austin Herro and Luka Momcilovic at St. Thomas.

As of April 24, five St. Thomas players are in the transfer portal and are uncommitted to new programs, and sophomore guard Nolan Minessale is committed to Marquette University. Follow the Tommie men’s basketball transfer tracker for more updates.
