The St. Thomas volleyball team played in the Diet Coke Classic over the weekend, sweeping the University of Miami (Fla.) in three sets but getting swept the next game by the University of Minnesota.
The Tommies will play their final two games before league play starts on Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19, in the Marquette tournament.
The football team is now 2-1 after a dominant 56-14 win over Northern Michigan as sophomore fourth-string quarterback Nick Peipert debuted with 270 passing yards and three total touchdowns.
The Tommies will play their next game on Sept. 19 against Southern Utah at home.
The Minnesota Vikings started off the season 1-0, defeating the Green Bay Packers in the season opener at home, 39-22. The Vikings scored 29 unanswered points in the second half.
