The St. Thomas women’s hockey team had a two-game series this weekend against Bemidji State, splitting the games with a 5-0 victory on Friday, before falling 2-1 on Saturday.
The football team extended their win streak to five games with a crucial 20-13 win over Drake, keeping their hopes of being in a pioneer football league championship appearance alive.
They are currently 2nd in the Pioneer Football League, just under Drake. The team has 1 more Pioneer League game against #16 Presbyterian and a game against #1 North Dakota State to wrap up the season.
On Saturday, the men’s and women’s basketball teams had their home opener in Lee & Penny Anderson Arena against Army.
The women’s team lost 67-61, despite a career high of 18 points by junior forward Savannah McGowan. The men’s team came out on top with an 83-76 victory, led by sophomore guard Nolan Minessale’s 20 points, his second 20-point performance.
