The St. Thomas baseball team lost to Northern Colorado 16-10 to kick off its final series of the year.

The Tommies held on until the eighth inning, when the Bears scored 11 runs to pull away. This leaves St. Thomas with a 19-9 conference record.

The team will play again Friday and Saturday, giving them a chance to claim the Summit League title from 19-9 Oral Roberts depending on the outcome of that team’s last two games.

The men’s and women’s track and field teams are competing in the Summit League Outdoor Championships this weekend at the University of South Dakota.

Senior Anna Swanson was crowned champion in the javelin for the second year in a row. She topped her previous winning distance of 47.65 meters with a throw of 48.89 meters this year.
