St. Thomas men’s basketball won a 80-67 Summit League quarterfinal victory over South Dakota State Thursday at the Denny Sanford Premiere Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Sophomore forward Ben Oosterbaan led the team with a career-high 23 points. Meanwhile, sophomore guard Nolan Minessale put up eight rebounds, six assists and two blocks on top of 22 points. He scored eight of those in one uncontested run in the first half.
UST will play in the later semifinal game Saturday against the winner of No. 3 North Dakota and No 6. Denver.
Meanwhile, the women’s basketball team will start their Summit League tournament run today at No. 5 against No. 4 Oral Roberts at noon in Sioux Falls.
