St. Thomas Men’s Hockey earned their trip to the Mason Cup Final in a 2-1 victory over Augustana Saturday.
Lucas Van Vliet, the CCHA Rookie of the Year, scored in a one-on-three situation early in the third period, earning the Tommies their first score of the game, and Graduate forward Alex Gaffney buried a puck past the right shoulder of Augustana junior goaltender Josh Kotai for the winning goal.
The Tommies will face the Minnesota State Mavericks in Mankato in the Mason Cup Finals, Friday, March 20th.
After a loss in the Summit League semifinals, St. Thomas Men’s Basketball has been selected to compete in the team’s first NCAA postseason tournament.
The Tommies will open the National Invitation Tournament in a match against Seattle U, Tuesday, March 17, at the Redhawk Center in Seattle, Washington.
