The Scooter’s ordering kiosks are back after a month of being shut down.
Students had previously been directed to online ordering options instead of the “Out of order” devices.
“The kiosks are going to be a little more user-friendly,” Scooter’s and T’s production chef Kevin Russ said.
Russ said they had the kiosks shut down as they were being updated for smoother ordering.
“We had a lot of issues with items not ringing through properly or they were causing errors in the system, so then tickets weren’t getting sent to the kitchen, and so then people were like, ‘hey, I never got my order,’ so we are improving them,” Russ said.
Russ said he thought it would streamline the business to have the kiosks updated. He hoped updates to the kiosks would result in fewer errors in getting customers their correct orders in a timely manner.
In addition to smoother-running kiosks, there is also the option of ordering by app. This can be done via Grubhub or the Get Food app.
“There’s going to be a lot of different avenues… I know we have our peak times here, and well, kind of get lines at the kiosks, and so this will hopefully…cut down on waiting in a line,” Russ said.
When students who frequent Scooter’s were asked about the shutdown, they had little concern about it. Some students even said they prefer ordering through the app.
“I can just do it in class and come right in and grab my stuff,” first-year Carter Ganser said.
Ganser said he ordered through both the app and the kiosks, but stated that the app ordering has been “flawless.”
“We are making things a greater experience across the board,” said Russ.
With all of these changes, Russ believes Scooter’s dining will be better for customers.
