Places to take your senior photos that are not the Arches

Your senior photos should reflect what made your college experience special. Whether it’s a location specific to your experience at St. Thomas, props that showcase how you spent your time, or a creative aesthetic, these are some tips for making your senior photos truly about you.

  1. The Grotto is a beautiful spot for natural senior photos tucked away from the hustle of the city.

2. The Monument

The Monument at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard is within walking distance of south campus. A short hike onto the bluffs will provide a beautiful view of the Mississippi River and Minneapolis skyline, the intersection of Minnesota nature and the Twin Cities.

    3. Summit Avenue

As the trees start to bloom, photos straight down the center of the Summit Avenue bike trails are a subtle nod to the historic avenue.

      4. O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library

If you’re looking for dark-academia-inspired senior photos, the library is a perfect spot to commemorate your late night studies.

        5. The Greenhouse

Did you go to every Free Tea Thursday in the greenhouse?

          6. Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas.

With stained glass and stunning ceiling art, the chapel is a beautiful option to remember UST’s Catholic heritage.

            7. Your off-campus haunt (coffee)

Whether it was Davanni’s every Friday night or a daily Dunn Bros coffee, take a few fun photos wherever you found yourself off campus. This a great opportunity to use the cozy interior of your favorite coffee shop or old-school decor of Nellies to curate a Pinterest-worthy aesthetic and show off your personality. Your senior photos can show more than just your studies!

            8. Your major building, like Owens Science Hall

Whether you studied in the ultra-modern Schoenecker Science Center or historic John Roach Center, a couple photos outside your major building will commemorate your studies. Bonus points for major-specific props and detail shots!

            9. Your extracurricular activity

Your senior photos should show who you are and what you did. Everyone walked through the arches, but not everyone started a club or won titles on the softball field!
