Gen. Hossein Mohebbi, spokesperson for the revolutionary guard, held a news conference in Tehran, Iran’s capital, on Tuesday and read from what he said was a “letter to the American people.”
He said that the only way for the war to end is for Washington to admit defeat and leave. Later, in remarks to the Associated Press, Mohebbi urged Americans to take to the streets and protest Trump’s policies.
Americans remain flustered by the economy after five years of elevated inflation, potentially posing a risk to President Trump and Americans in the midterm elections.
Trump has continued to blame high prices on Biden, yet inflation has risen since Trump’s inauguration last year.
Three news outlets that President Trump abruptly banished from White House grounds this month asked a federal court to block the action until the case is resolved, saying the administration has “persisted in unpredictability and inconsistently implementing its ban,” despite a judge’s restraining order.
