Heavy flooding caused by torrential downpour pounded Central Europe over the weekend, affecting thousands in communities in Poland, Austria, Romania, and the Czech Republic. The floods have claimed six lives in Romania, five lives in Poland, two in Austria and in the Czech Republic, four people who were swept away by waters were missing, police said.

The FBI said former President Donald Trump was the target of “what appears to be an attempted assassination” at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday, just nine weeks after the Republican presidential nominee survived another attempt on his life.

U.S. Secret Service agents opened fire on Sunday after seeing a person with a firearm near the golf club while he was golfing. No injuries were reported. 

A Minnesota woman who was involved in a sidewalk brawl in downtown Minneapolis jumped in an SUV and drove through a crowd, killing a 16-year-old girl and injuring five other people.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said the 22-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the events early Saturday. He said there is “no question” that the motorist intended to drive through the crowd. It wasn’t immediately clear if alcohol played any role, police said.
