More than 1,000 unionized Starbucks workers went on strike at 65 U.S. stores Thursday to protest a lack of progress in labor negotiations with the company.

Starbucks Workers United said stores in 45 cities would be impacted,  including New York, Philadelphia, Minneapolis,  and Starbucks’ home city of Seattle.

The announcement follows harsh criticism from the Trump administration about California and other states granting licenses to people in the country illegally.  It follows an incident when a tractor-trailer driver not authorized to be in the U.S. made an illegal u-turn and caused a crash in Florida that killed three people.
