A Syrian war monitor says gunmen loyal to the government have stormed three villages near Syria’s coast, killing nearly 70 men. 

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Chief said the gunmen shot dead 69 men and left without harming women or children.

The latest deaths raise the death toll to 147 since clashes between government forces and fighters loyal to Assad broke out on Thursday. 

Russia targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, in a large-scale missile and drone bombardment during the night, officials said Friday. 

This occurred hours after Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said that talks with the U.S. on ending the three-year-war will take place next week.

Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s power grid during the war. the attacks have depleted electricity generation capacity and disrupted critical heating and water supplies. 

At least 10 people, including a child, were wounded. 

Voters in Minnesota will choose a new representative Tuesday in a heavily Democratic state House District. The special election in the Douse District 40b, in the northern St. Paul suburbs, was rescheduled after a state court ruled that the democratic state representative. – elect – Curtis Johnson failed to meet residency requirements. Had Johnson taken office, the House would have started the 2025 session in a 67-67 tie that was expected to result in a power-sharing agreement between the two parties.
