President Donald Trump has expressed full support for Israel’s offensive in Gaza. Israel’s renewed assault on Gaza has killed more than 400 Palestinian civilians and injured 500 more.
The Trump administration’s approach to Israel contrasts with the Biden administration’s, as they have set no restrictions on Israel’s war on Gaza. Israel’s prime minister Netanyahu says these strikes are “Only the beginning.”
Hamas says it will only release the remaining hostages in exchange for a lasting ceasefire and a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, as called for in the original ceasefire agreement mediated by the United States, Egypt and Qatar.
President Donald Trump’s executive order to facilitate the gutting of the U.S. Education department is met with protests and court challenges. Trump claims the department has always been wasteful and contaminated by liberal ideology. However, completing its dismantling is likely impossible without an act of congress.
A Republican Minnesota state senator, who was caught in a sting operation this Monday, has resigned, claiming a need to focus on personal matters. He stepped down being charged with soliciting a minor for prostitution. Due to his timing, the Senate could not vote on whether to expel him.
