Ukrainian President Zelenskyy says a deal to end the war between Ukraine and Russia is “very, very far away.” He expects to keep receiving American support despite his recent fraught relations with U.S. President Donald Trump.

There has been recent diplomatic upheaval between the western countries that provided Ukraine with military hardware and financial aid. The turn of events is unwelcome for Ukraine, whose army is having a hard time keeping russian forces at bay.

Sean Baker won best picture for his film “Anora” and took four for himself at the Academy Awards on Sunday. Mikey Madison was crowned best actress, and Adrien Brody won best actor for his performance in “The Brutalist.” Zoe Saldaña also accepted the best supporting actress Oscar for “Emilia Pérez.”

St. Thomas Director of Student Affairs Karen Lange spoke at an undergraduate student government meeting last week. She says St. Thomas has had two federal grants cancelled, but she says the school found money to honor the affected students’ scholarships.

Lange also addressed housing issues that left two hundred and seventy applicants without housing. She said St. Thomas is looking to build another residence hall in the future.
