The United States has seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela as tensions mount with the government of President Nicolás Maduro.
U.S. President Donald Trump has said the deadly strikes on alleged drug-smuggling boats will expand to attacks on land. Maduro told supporters in Caracas that Venezuela is “prepared to break the teeth of the North American empire if necessary.”

Police said 56-year-old Stein-Erik Soelberg fatally beat and strangled his mother, Suzanne Adams, and killed himself in early August at the home where they both lived.
The lawsuit filed by Adams’ estate on Thursday in California superior court in San Francisco alleges OpenAI “designed and distributed a defective product that validated a user’s paranoid delusions about his own mother.”
