In connection with the death of St. Thomas senior Seham Hassen, Gabriella Marie Liebgott was arrested Friday and charged Monday with two felony counts of criminal vehicular homicide.

The police statements cite two witnesses who said Liebgott had been drinking the morning of March 22 and that she knew she had struck a person.

The judge has set a $150,000 bond.

Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, insisted that a two-week ceasefire in the Iran war be extended to Lebanon but Israel disagreed.

Israel’s military said it targeted Hezbollah sites, but several strikes hit densely packed commercial and residential areas during rush hour, leading to widespread civilian casualties. Lebanese president Joseph Aoun called the attacks “barbaric.”

A federal judge on Wednesday handed down a sentence of 15 years in prison to a woman who pleaded guilty to selling actor Matthew Perry the ketamine that killed him in 2023.

Just before she was sentenced, Jasveen Sangha, also known as the “ketamine queen,” told the judge she wears her shame “like a jacket.”
