The hacking group ShinyHunters claimed responsibility for the outage, which occurred Thursday afternoon and evening, said Luke Connolly, a threat analyst at the cybersecurity firm Emsisoft.
Most universities have resumed operations on Canvas but are expecting ripple effects throughout the coming week. St. Thomas students received emails Thursday informing them of the outage. Canvas operations at UST resumed Friday, according to an email sent Friday.
